Cessna 182 Customer Feedback

Congratulations on your Cessna 182 purchase! We would like to post your feedback on our website along with any digital pictures and videos of your airplane. Send all feedback to parkflyers@aol.com

Parkflyers Cessna 182 pro deluxe: I didnt know I was going to do this review so i didnt take any pics of how it looked in the box. It comes very nicely packaged and I personally dont see any big risks of damage in shipment. This plane comes RTF in that it comes with everything you need including the glue and to my surprise it included a fms flight simulator cd and cord to hook to the included 2.4ghz transmitter that hooks to your pc via the microphone in jack and works on windows except Zx72054vista of course!! It includes four different instruction manuals one for Plane, radio, charger and flight sim., all very easy to follow. It also came with an extra prop and linkage clevises.

Specifications wingspan 32.5 inches
lenght 28.5 inches
weight 22.7 ounces
motor himag 480
radio 4 chnl 2.4ghz with 4 9gram servos
charger ac balancing adjustable charge rate
battery 7.4v 2200mah

Assembly is very easy, takes about 15 minutes. I used 15 min epoxy instead of the included glue just a personal preference and epoxy gives you a little bit stronger bond. The only reason it took me this long is because i kept stopping to look at how scale this plane really is, right down to the wheelpants. I was very impressed in how nice it went together, had to make one little cut in the fuselage to get the tail gear on and this is mentioned in the instructions. I put on the landing gear and mounted the wing that is mounted using two screws. At this point i started looking for the location of the cg in the instructions, no mention of it. I made Mark at www.parkflyers.com aware of this and that will be taken care of. The CG is right on the wingspar/reinforcement just aft of the leading edge which is 1 1/4 inches back from leading edge. Thats the one and only miss on this rtf. Make sure to get your flying surfaces as level as possible before you attempt to fly, by adjusting the linkages. save your trim on your radio for in flight trims because the radio doesnt give you very much trim adjustment.
The only additional thing i did to mine was i put some reinforced packing tape on the leading edge of the main wing

Flight is very scale, this is one sweet flying rtf, i have to say one of the best ive ever had. The battery compartment is located under the fuselage right behind the motor its very easy access and no probs with the lipo moving around its a snug fit, battery compartment looks like it was made for the included lipo. Turn on your transmitter making sure you have the throttle all the way down and the trim knob. hook up the lipo close the battery door securing it with the two pivoting locks and your ready to fly, no having to take off the wing to change batteries is a very nice feature. The included 480 himag neo-dynium motor is more than enough power, this plane doesnt need a brushless upgrade. The included motor is a very nice smooth powerful motor, turn the prop manually and you can feel the strength of the brushes. The dual servo ailerons are very nice and give plenty of command on rolls and turns with no slop at all, i had no glitches!!!

Flight times are just as advertised, around 20 mins with proper throttle control. I was amazed, my first flight was on a new kinda rough ball diamond and it went airborne in about 20 feet it actually caught me off guard and i dumb thumbed it into a roll about 15 feet off the ground, so i finished out the accidental roll and went right into a loop the onlookers were impressed and so was I ! This plane has more than enough power the way it comes, i did inverted flight with very little radio input. You can fly this plane with a very low speed and it stays stable no stalls, so with some throttle management you could fly it in a small area, I was able to fly the bases around the ball diamond with no problems, and it looks so good doing it.
This planes landing gear is designed for a smooth runway, so if your gonna fly it on grass take them off and it hand launches very nicely and belly lands with no problem.

The parkflyers cessna 182 pro is a great rc plane for anybody. From a beginner with some sim time or an instructor to assist or a pilot whose looking for their first 4 channel to the experienced pilot who wants a scale rtf that does everything thing its claimed to do plus some. You wont be dissapointed in this one or dealing with the folks at parkflyers. The reason i wrote this review is the fact that ive dealt with them several times now and have been more than satisfied. If you have a problem i have no doubts parkflyers will help you out.

For the beginner, make sure to hook your elevator and aileron linkages to the middle hole, this plane is very responsive and you could very easily over control it !!!! put the rudder linkage to the outermost hole so you have some on ground steering control, the landing gear is fixed so it takes a bit to make it turn on the ground, which is one thing im doing to mine is making the nose gear steerable, but its not necessary to do this. If you bend the landing gear, which you will, take it out of the plane before you try to bend it back or you might break out the supports.

Im gonna be adding to this review some more pics and video soon as i get a cameraman. If i can be any help with your parkflyer model just let me know, ill be glad to try to help you. DJ

It worked. I noticed that the elevator was not moving much beyond a neutral plane. Moving it to the inner hole helped. I also turned the attachment point a few more times to get some additional play in the upward movement of the elevator. Thanks for your help. It’s always nice to get good customer service in this day an age when it’s a rare business service. Looking forward to purchasing our next plane.

Mark @ Parkflyers RC Planes,

Unfortunately its raining here (Georgia) so I can't fly my plane today. The aluminum looks great on the plane though, thanks for all your help! Again, I'm sorry about what I said, sometimes patience is key with RC flying. One thing I didn't mention, I'm currently a student in college working on my Commercial rating and my 4-year bachelor's in professional aviation management (just a little about me). And actually, Dennis Hobbies is in walking distance from where I live. They just recently started ordering decathlons from you guys after some costumers saw mine. As soon as the weather clears and I get a good flying day I'll take pictures and send you a flight review.

Thanks,

Andrew

HI my name is Mike, and I have bought 2 of your cessna 182 planes, and have enjoyed every min of flying them, they LOOK GREAT, FLY great and is over all an awsome plane.... out of all the planes I have searched for I find the park flyers cessna 182 4 chann el the best looking scale model plane out there, I'd for sure recommend it.  I soon plan to order a new 4 channel 182 in the next month or so...... this plane is for sure a winner! And thanks to parkflyers for stocking such a great plane!

Hello Parkflyers.com…

First, let me start by saying that the Parkflyers.com Cessna 182 is a beautiful model. The construction was very straightforward and my model went together very well. I am an experienced RC pilot (10+ years and several models built and flown), and I found the Cessna 182 an absolute joy to fly. The model flew beautifully and predictably from its very first flight with no surprises, in normal or mild acrobatic flight, which your website and the Backyard Flyer magazine review said it was capable of. The magazine review and your website claims were spot on in that the Cessna 182 is a very stable flyer, so I congratulate you on a superb model.

Anyway, thanks again for a great scale RTF Cessna 182!

It took me 15 minutes to prepare the Cessna 182 for its first
flight. The first flight was very smooth. The airplane was super
stable and very easy to fly. This is a very fun airplane for
beginners. I fly it almost every other day now in the park behind my
house. VERY RECOMMENDED.

I bought your Cessna 182 before winter and wasn't able to take it out until
today.
I have to tell you that I was pretty impressed by this little bugger.

Stock batt, stock everything. It took off from the ground, flew great and
was much more responsive than I anticipated. Performed loops and turns
without hesitation and coasted in for a smooth landing. And,,,it looks
great !
And, it was the first time I've flown anything other than a Hobby Zone 2
channel pusher, that I crashed on the 2nd flight.

I would certainly recommend this plane.

Now, that being said,,,,,a gust of wind came out of ?? and did drive it into
the ground, but that was mother nature. Some great glue, tape, rebuilding
and I think it'll be back in the air tomorrow.

Thank you,
gw

Parkflyer;

I recently purchased a Cessna 182 RTF 4 channel.

What I do like is the ease of flying the plane, the
maneuverability, and the power to do several stunts. I
also like the availability of replacement parts
because it has been in the ground once already.

Tom

Hi

I just wanted to weigh in with my opinion of the Cessna 182. I bought 3 of these birds over the summer
(1 ea 4 ch and 2 ea 3 ch) and flew only the 3 channel ones. I loved the way they responded to the
controller, very tight and precise. They actually are a little too touchy. I adjusted the throw of the
control rods to take some of the response out. As I et better I will try the 4 channel one. I can say
they fly very well as slow flyers and as fast birds. It seems you can have it all in one bird.

I am thinking of tricking mine out with a brushless motor and LiPo battery. The airframe is
fantastic and rugged if you reinforce the main wing with clear tape.

Overall the plane is great. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a fun intermediate plane

I loved mine.

Marc:

Whatever I can do for you on the surveys, I will do. You have a great little business there and you've been great to me, so I will certainly do that for you.

I've purchased quite a few planes now and the Cessna is still my favorite plane.

How is the Edge? Is it worth it? Let me know.

Mark, each time I’ve ordered for you I have been satisfied with the product, its performance and the quick response that you gave when I had a question. You’re doing a great job…..

Hi I just recently bought a Cessna 182, the shipping is very fast. I just recently bought a plane from Hobbytron.com and it took five days to get here. But for you guys my Cessna got her in two days! The Cessna is a dream come true compared to other planes. I took this puppy to a air show and started to fly after the real jets did and the pilots to the F-18s were amazed on this little planes performance. So next time you are looking for a good company with exotic planes come to Parkflyers.com and be amazed

Thanks for Everything

Dear Marc,

Just a note of thanks from a satisfied customer. Your professionalism and business ethics are excellent. They match the flying characteristics of your models. The fact that you provide live customer service separates you from the rest of the crowd. I hope to be doing much more business with you in the future.

hedge-cessna-182-pictureDear Sir;

I took my Parkflyer Cessna 182 to the field, set it on the runway opened the throttle slowly to full! The little plane zipped down the runway, sounding like a swarm of angry bees! It jumped into the air and rapidly climbed to a safe aerobatic altitude.

I did a few loops and then began doing Cuban eights! It flew great! I quickly gathered a crowd of local flyers. I was told, "We never saw a small ready built electric fly that well!"

It runs straight down the runway, due to the tricycle gear, with very little tendency to veer off. On landing it stays straight down the runway! My tail draggers always tend to veer off on take off and on landing they like to ground loop or at least run off into the grass, when rudder authority is lost.

I used battery packs from other E/P planes and managed to keep it flying all morning!

I changed the location of the push rods on the control horns for a less sensitive feel, as the plane is quit zippy and sensitive. With the less sensitive feel, it was more stable and still would do rolls and many other maneuvers.

I took the wheel pants off, as they were dragging on the wheels, i epoxied the aileron servo in place, as it was coming loose. I put my own radio in the plane, as I fly mode one, and am more comfortable that way.

I keep a lot of extra battery packs available, so I can keep flying. They are easy to change out, as you do not have to take off the wing off. They insert from the bottom. All so I like the bolt on wing, so do not like rubber bands for this purpose. Never take the plane apart! Jut fly it! It is small and easy to transport. The plane looks realistic in the air and flies very well!

Hello, My name is Dan Masteller and I have just recently bought the cessna 182 R/c Plane with the 3 channel receiver. I think it is a great beginner plane. I had no prior experience flying anything at all and within the first two or three times getting it in the air, I felt confident flying it and getting it back to the ground safely. I want to thank parkflyers for there great and very cool planes, and for there fast delivery. I know that you will find it just as exhilarating as I did.

thanx,

Dan

Hello. My name is Jason Roberts and just wanted to drop you a note on how I appreciated your helpful answers to my questions and how quickly you shipped our my orders. I just recently got interested I flying when I was on vacation in Virginia and saw someone flying his own plane at the campground we were staying at. He was doing loops and tricks and I knew I wanted to try it. So I ordered a plane, went to the local park and began flying ( despite a few mishaps ) which parkflyers.com helped me out with. Thanks for the great products and even better customer service.

Jason

Marc, Ive flown that puppy a half-dozen times and all I need now is some pictures of it flying. It first flew in winds in excess of 15 MPH! She struggled upwind, and man did it go downwindJ. I must have shot a dozen touch and goes in that wind and it performed flawlessly – even hand launched it a couple of times!!!!!

This weekend we have a two-day all electric fly-in and I will use the plane for some hands-on’ training for kids – so yes, I do like it!

Jerry Festa

I bought the Cessna 182. I live at 6000 feet and it flew great. It took off within 60 feet and had no problem climbing. I usually buy gas powered airplanes but since I bought this plane, I have not used them. Being an electric plane, I can fly it in a small park not far from home and have the same thrill as I would at the remote control airport. The plane is very durable and easily repairable when you have a wreck. I highly recommend this airplane.

Thank you again jim zurlick

I WOULD LIKE TO LET
YOU ALL KNOW HOW AWESOME THE CESSNA IS! I BELIEVE IT LOOKS AND FLIES
BETTER THAN ANY OTHER ELECTRIC OUT THERE. I HAVE SEVERAL OTHER
ELECTRICS,AND WHEN THEIR IN THE (HANGER) BECAUSE OF TOO MUCH WIND,IM "SKY
SURFING" WITH THE 182!!! SO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND LET ME KNOW ABOUT
ANY FUTURE QUALITY PRODUCTS FROM PARKFLYERS.COM.......THANKS
AGAIN.....

SINCERELY; BRIAN HEBERT

I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE THREE CHANNEL CESSNA 182.  I HAVE TWO OF THEM. OUT OF THE BOX AND IN THE AIR IN NO TIME AT ALL .GREAT LOOKING AND TRUE SCALE APPEARANCE. WAITING FOR THE ARRIVAL OF FOUR CHANNEL VERSION. WOULD BE GREAT FOR A BEGINNER THAT WANTS TO TRY OUT R/C. A LOW MAINTENANCE HOBBY.

I WOULD RECOMMEND AN EXTRA BATTERY.

ERV BARRETT ST PETERS MISSOURI

Hello! I recently bought the Cessna 182 3-channel foam flyer. I am somewhat new to flying rc and thought it would be very difficult to catch on to the sport. This plane turned out to be incredibly easy to fly and I have had no problems with it. With the regular battery pack I get about 15 minutes of flight time. I cant wait to switch my battery pack over to the new lipo pack and make the plane fly even longer. Thanks!!!!

Brett

Thank you so very much for sending the Cessna 182 plane as quickly as you did. You
made my son's, and, in turn, my, Christmas - very very special. It was
the only thing on his Christmas list and thanks to your efforts he was
able to receive it on time.

You went beyond the call of duty and I am so thankful for your efforts .

God Bless - Happy New Year
-One thankful Mom -
