Here is some customer feed back on speed 480 Retom

Get home to pull out a new 400 and what is on my doorstep but Jetset's new 480 reversed timed
motors. These are about 1/2 inch longer then the 400s but slide right into the Zagi motor mount, added shim to back because motor has the metal ring on it which pitched the trust line off a little. Already has 2 capasitors on it. I had already reversed the step in the battery compartment for future modifications so slid the battery forward 1/2 inch and the wing was rebalanced.
In house testing.
1) The motor is listed as reversed timed. Yes. Reversed wound, not that I can tell. at least you still have
to connect the positive to the negative engine terminal. I tried pos to pos and engine ran backwards.
2) do not have stats to run in moto calc but there is a big thrust differance over the 400s. I fired this up and
papers litterially started flying off my desk 10 feet across the room which did not happen when I had
tested the 400.
3) In flight: This is 7.2 volt engine, has a decided full vs 1/4 battery performance change. With a full battery
this plane climbed out at takeoff at a 45 plus degree angle. Full thrust would go about 60. My plane is set with medium control throws and CG just slightly nose heavy at the 8" mark. 26.5 oz with new motor. I use coroplast winglets with 1.5 inch extention below the wing in back. Using the 5x5 carbon props of Trick's.
stock 1700 battery.
Outside loops. With the 400 I could do an outside loop but the top of the loop would be alot lower then
the start and exit would be with a slight stall. With the 480 a complete outside loop ending in level flight at same altitude the plane started at would work. Top speed is not much more then the 400 but thrust is way up. Consecutive loops are no problem from level flight.
At 3/4 of battery used the performance noticably drops putting it into identical thrust to the 400.
Flight times have no noticable differance. I tend to use 3/4 trottle for 1/2 the flight since regular loops, spins and gental climbs can all be done at this speed. Boost to full throttle for the full outside loops. My outside loops are huge due to my current control throws, but very impressive.
4) after flight. Motor was not even warm, battery pack mildly warm. No noticable heat on ESC.

For 9.99 this is a cheap quick pick me up for any speed 400 plane. Highly recommend it. As usual, Jetset/parkflyers delivers fast.
